Gingerbread house dimensions, small to large
A common medium gingerbread house is about 6 by 7 inches with 4-inch walls, 7 inches to the peak. The table gives three sizes with every piece measured; pick one above or type your own.
Side walls are two dough thicknesses shorter than the depth, so they fit between the front and back.

Questions
Is there a standard gingerbread house size?
There is no single standard. Each free template comes in its own fixed size; the medium size above is a middle choice and cuts from about 2 3/4 lb of dough.
What does width mean here?
Width is the front of the house, the side with the gable and door. Depth runs from front to back.
Are the sizes in inches?
Yes, to the nearest 1/8 inch, as a ruler reads. Each printed sheet also has a 1-inch bar to check the scale.
