Free printable gingerbread house template
Print the walls and roof below at true scale on Letter paper, free. This cottage is 6 by 7 inches with 4-inch walls and prints on 5 sheets; change any size and the sheets redraw.
Side walls are two dough thicknesses shorter than the depth, so they fit between the front and back.
Your six pieces
What prints
Six pieces, each printed as many times as you cut it, so you can lay them all on the dough at once:
- Front and back wall, cut 2: 6″ wide and 7″ to the peak. The peak is the 4″ wall plus half the width (3″) at a 45° roof.
- Side wall, cut 2: 6 1/2″ by 4″. That is the 7″ depth minus two dough thicknesses of 1/4″, so the side walls fit between the front and back.
- Roof panel, cut 2: 8″ by 4 3/4″: the 7″ depth plus a 1/2″ overhang at each end, by the 4 1/4″ slope plus the 1/2″ overhang.
All six together take about 2 3/4 lb (1,190 g) of dough rolled 1/4″ thick, trimmings included.

Questions
Is the template really free?
Yes. Every size prints free, with no sign-up. Nothing you type leaves your browser.
How do I know it printed at the right size?
Every sheet has a bar that should measure exactly 1 inch. Measure it with a ruler before you cut. If it is short, print again with the scale set to "Actual size" or 100%, not "Fit to page".
Can I print on A4 paper?
The sheets are laid out for US Letter. On A4, keep the scale at 100% and check the 1-inch bar; the pieces still print at true size, with a little more space at the bottom.
