Gingerbread cabin template
A cabin is long and low: this one is 6 inches across the front and 9 deep, with 3 1/2-inch walls and a shallow 30° roof. It takes about 2 1/2 lb of dough and prints on 6 sheets.
Cut list
Side walls are two dough thicknesses shorter than the depth, so they fit between the front and back.

Your six pieces
The cabin, worked
- Front and back wall, cut 2: 6″ wide and 5 1/4″ to the peak: the 3 1/2″ wall plus 3″ × tan 30° (1 3/4″).
- Side wall, cut 2: 8 1/2″ by 3 1/2″: the 9″ depth minus two 1/4″ thicknesses.
- Roof panel, cut 2: 10″ by 4″.
Dough: about 2 1/2 lb (1,170 g) at 1/4″. The long side walls give the most room for log decoration.
Questions
How do I make it look like logs?
The template gives plain walls to decorate. The logs are what you press or pipe onto them.
Why is the roof so shallow?
This cabin uses a low 30° roof, so the gable rises only 1 3/4″ and the house stays low. Raise the pitch for a steeper roof.
Can the cabin be longer?
Type any depth up to 16 inches. A piece longer than about 9 inches prints in parts that tape together; this cabin's 10″ roof panels already do.
Print at "Actual size" on Letter paper and measure the 1-inch bar on each sheet before you cut. Pieces are plain walls and roof panels: cut doors and windows by hand.
